After the Braswell boys varsity basketball team lost to Ryan 32-64 on Friday, the players were already looking forward to how they could improve for the next game.

“We had a tough challenge ahead of us, and we are going to have to go hard and put shots up,” junior shooting guard Mecca Hicks said.

Both teams showed exceptional defense and offense during the game. However, sophomore point guard and power forward Mark Kunz said the team needs to strategize for the next time the two rivals meet.

“I feel like we need to get better so we can challenge them next time,” he said.

Sophomore shooting guard MJ Leslie agreed with Kunz, saying preparation is key to the team’s future wins.

“The Braswell basketball team hopes to get more wins in the future by working hard and practicing every single day,” Leslie said. “We prepare ourselves really hard during the week.”
