The Braswell Golf team played the Jan. 31 at the Bridlewood Tournament in Flower Mound. Although the team did not place, they are looking at the tournament as a learning experience.

“We are young,” coach Joe Curtis said. “Most of the team are freshman. The first year is always rough.”

Still, the team said they are proud of how the first season is going.

“People say that golf is not a sport, but we are showing that we are good, and we can improve,” junior PJ Railey said.

The team practices four days a week, from 3:30 to 6:30 p.m. in Frisco and Plano. They said they are continuing to put in hard work this season, while also looking forward to next.

“The kids have to practice more during the summer,” Curtis said. “They have to work hard. We are gaining new players so we can be stronger.”

The next tournament for the Braswell golf team is the Plantation Tournament at Plano West High School on Feb. 28.
